Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster joined elite group on Sunday

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster had four receptions for 43 yards and a receiving touchdown Sunday in the team’s 28-21 win over the Houston Texans. This put Smith-Schuster over 3,000 career receiving yards and 20 receiving touchdowns.

It also puts him in very rare company. Smith-Schuster is the fourth-youngest player to ever hit those two milestones. The others? Larry Fitzgerald, Randy Moss and Mike Evans.

Smith-Schuster is in his fourth NFL season despite not yet being 24 years old. His breakout season cam in 2018 when he hauled in 111 passes for 1,426 yards and seven touchdowns. Smith-Schuster is currently on pace to finish with 90 receptions, 853 receiving yards and 16 receiving touchdowns.

The Steelers drafted Smith-Schuster in the second round of the 2016 NFL draft and he immediately made his presence felt. Smith-Schuster is currently trying to assume the role of the team’s No. 1 wide receiver with an eye on the future as he’s preparing to fit free agency at the end of the season.
