Steelers WR James Washington talks about being more comfortable with Ben Roethlisberger

Most every NFL player is or at least was an NFL fan. And when you are a fan you view the stars as larger than life at times. Listening to Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver James Washington, he might have gone through some of this his rookie season with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

Washington spoke to the media and said spending time this offseason with Roethlisberger away from football at Roethlisberger’s vacation hoe in Georgia really helped him get more comfortable with Big Ben.

One of the goals of Steelers training camp is finding out which of the other wide receivers on the roster is ready to step up and start. Washington will battle Donte Moncrief and Diontae Johnson for reps opposite JuJu Smith-Schuster. Hearing Washington say he’s more comfortable with Roethlisberger is a step in the right direction for a young man with a tremendous amount of talent.
