Steelers WR Diontae Johnson to start vs the 49ers

The Pittsburgh Steelers made a move on the depth chart to try to spark the offense. This Sunday when the Steelers take on the San Francisco 49ers, rookie wide receiver Diontae Johnson will get the start opposite JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Pittsburgh had been trotting out Donte Moncrief but his inability to hold onto the football has essentially made him expendable in the starting lineup. Moncrief dropped five passes in two games and with Mason Rudolph getting his first NFL start he needs as many dependable players in the pattern as possible.

Personally, I’d love to see James Washington get those reps considering the relationship between Washington and Rudolph. Washington has looked really good this season in limited snaps and has been the security blanket for Rudolph for years.
