Steelers WR Chase Claypool named to PFWA All-Rookie team

The Pittsburgh Steelers proved in 2020 they are still among the best in the league at scouting and drafting wide receivers outside of the first round of the NFL draft. The latest star is Chase Claypool. It took him no time to show just how good he can be in the NFL. His big rookie campaign earned him a spot on the Pro Football Writers of America’s All-Rookie team.

Claypool finished the season with 62 receptions for 873 yards and nine receiving touchdowns. Claypool also pitched in with two rushing scores. Even with a late-season dip in snaps and production, Claypool led the team in total touchdowns and was second on the team in receiving yards.

Looking ahead to 2021, Claypool is in line to be the full-time starter opposite Diontae Johnson, if JuJu Smith-Schuster leaves in free agency.

One Steeler who did get snubbed from the team is guard Kevin Dotson. Dotson only started four games but only allowed one quarterback pressure and zero sacks in 219 pass-blocking snaps.
