Steelers WR Antonio Brown preparing to be a distraction to speed up a trade

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown has been saying some pretty crazy things lately. But perhaps, just perhaps, Brown has been doing all of this with a very specific angle. Based on his conversation with ESPN’s Jeff Darlington, it really feels like all of this crazy commentary is the foreshadowing of the distraction Brown is willing to become if he isn’t traded.

The $2.5 million bonus is certainly a factor and will figure into the Steelers’ plans. But make no mistake, money isn’t the biggest factor for Pittsburgh. They want to get value in this trade.

But in the same interview, Brown said he didn’t understand why they wouldn’t trade him because they don’t want the distractions going forward. This tells me he is prepared to elevate his level of chaos in order to force the hand of the Steelers.

The Steelers have done a great job avoiding all the drama surrounding Brown and his media tour. They remain focused on the team and no caving into Brown’s demands. But at this point, if you are a team with an interest in Brown, how does all this sit with you? And does it impact his trade value?
