Steelers WR Antonio Brown officially requests trade

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown sent out a tweet on Tuesday indicating he was ready to move on from the Steelers. Moments later, ESPN reporter Adam Schefter confirmed Brown has formally requested a trade.

This was backed up by fellow NFL reporter Ian Rapoport.

The relationship between Brown and the Steelers has been steadily declining since the final weeks of the regular season. But it seems any hope for the two sides to come together and mend fences was just wishful thinking.

At this point, the ball is in the Steelers’ court. There is little doubt there will be interest from plenty of teams wanting Brown’s services. He’s one of the most talented wide receivers in the NFL and on the right team could still be dominant.
