After playing on Monday night, the Pittsburgh Steelers are trying to prepare for the Indianapolis Colts on a short week and are doing so with a long list of injured players. The team put out its first practice report and the following seven guys were held out of practice completely.
G Ramon Foster (concussion)
LB Mark Barron (coach)
TE Vance McDonald (coach)
C Maurkice Pouncey (calf)
RB James Conner (shoulder)
DT Dan McCullers (ankle)
RB Benny Snell (knee)
In addition, linebacker Ulysees Gilbert was limited with a back injury.
We are hopeful the team was just being cautious with many of these guys because it is a short week. The Thursday report will be telling as to just how bad many of these injuries are. The Steelers really cannot afford to be short the team’s starting running back and two starting offensive linemen against a team as physical as the Colts.
