Steelers vs Chargers: Thursday practice report

Friday is going to be huge for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Their Thursday practice report was stuffed with guys who were either already ruled out, not participating at all or were limited.

The most positive thing from Thursday’s report is linebacker Anthony Chickillo was a full participant. He’s been dealing with a foot injury for several weeks but could be back. He doesn’t offer much on defense but is an excellent special teams player.

Cornerback Steven Nelson was limited again on Thursday and to make matters worse, cornerback Mike Hilton joined him with a foot injury. If these guys cannot go on Sunday against the Chargers, this unit is going to be stretched very thin.

In other news, quarterback Mason Rudolph went through a limited workout again but has not been released from the concussion protocol. It seems highly unlikely he plays on Sunday, leaving Devlin Hodges as the starting quarterback.
