Steelers vs Chargers: QB Mason Rudolph and LB Mark Barron OUT for Sunday

The Pittsburgh Steelers are going into Los Angeles this Sunday shorthanded. Pittsburgh put out their game status for this week’s game and frankly it’s ugly. Quarterback Mason Rudolph is one of five players ruled out for this week’s game. Fullback Roosevelt Nix, wide receiver James Washington, running back Jaylen Samuels and linebacker Mark Barron are also out.

Additionally, cornerback Steven Nelson is listed as questionable. If Nelson can’t go, former first-round pick Artie Burns would be the obvious choice to start in his place. Thankfully, cornerback Mike Hilton isn’t on the injury report after being limited in practice on Thursday.

The Steelers promoted quarterback Paxton Lynch and running back Trey Edmunds to the 53-man roster to replace Rudolph and Samuels this week. Rookie Devlin Hodges will get his first career start in Los Angeles.

With Barron out, Vince Williams and Devin Bush will both get a heavy workload on defense. This might finally be the week we see the best of wide receiver Donte Moncrief filling in for Washington.
