The last time the Pittsburgh Steelers started the season 0-3, things didn’t end well. It was 2013 and the Steelers actually lost four in a row to start the year before finishing 8-8 and missing the playoffs. If the Steelers start 0-3 this season it’s hard to see this group getting it together in a competitive AFC to salvage their playoff hopes. But can the Steelers travel all the way to San Francisco and beat the 2-0 49ers.
Putting all homerism aside, it’s hard to see the Steelers competing this week. That’s not to say it’ll be a blowout but with Mason Rudolph getting his first start in a situation they rarely win in, it’s hard to pick them.
In the final analysis, we are predicting the Steelers come out with energy but don’t be surprised when like last week they run out of gas down the stretch. I predict Pittsburgh will keep it all game long but in the end the Steelers defense returns to last season’s form and gives up a late score to give San Francisco the win.
