Steelers to sign DT Montravius Adams from Saints PS

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin hinted after the team’s embarrassing loss to the Cincinnati Bengals that he was open to the idea of some roster changes along the lines of scrimmage. According to ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter, the Steelers are making the first of those moves by adding defensive tackle Montravius Adams from the New Orleans Saints practice squad.

Adams is a former third-round draft pick of the Green Bay Packers. Adams spent his first four seasons in the NFL with the Packers as a rotational interior defensive lineman and is a strong pure nose tackle.

Pittsburgh is looking for help on the defensive line to try and stop the bleeding when it comes to defending the run. Injuries and uninspired play have caused the Steelers run defense to take a huge hit in recent weeks.
