Steelers TE Vance McDonald to come off COVID-19 list this week

According to Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, tight end Vance McDonald is coming off the COVID-19 list on Tuesday and will practice. This should mean McDonald will be available when the Steelers take on the Baltimore Ravens on Thanksgiving.

McDonald has missed the last two games after testing positive for COVID-19. His absence was missed, especially in run blocking but also as a physical target in the passing game.

While Eric Ebron has taken over the No. 1 role at tight end for the Steelers, getting McDonald back will open things up for the offense. This move is especially timely for the Steelers as reserve tight end Zach Gentry suffered a significant knee injury on Sunday’s win over the Jacksonville Jaguars and will not be available this week.
