Faith in the Pittsburgh Steelers is beginning to waiver, not just by the fans but also in the media. It’s hard to fault anyone who starts to question the Steelers after they’ve lost their franchise quarterback for the year and sit at 0-2. Pittsburgh fell once again in the USA TODAY Sports NFL power rankings this week as well.
The Steelers find themselves all the way down at No. 21 after being No. 15 last week. At the time we called the ranking generous and honestly, their new placing is as well. The Steelers could find themselves all but out of the playoff hunt in a month if the team doesn’t rally around Mason Rudolph.
Meanwhile, the leaders in the AFC North remain the undefeated Baltimore Ravens. They held serve at No. 5 in the rankings. If the Steelers can’t find a way to beat the San Francisco 49ers this weekend they will fall to 0-3 and face an all but insurmountable deficit to an AFC North title.
