Steelers sign rookie RB Benny Snell Jr. to a 4-year contract

The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to get their 2019 NFL draft class signed. After signing two rookies on Tuesday, Pittsburgh followed it up with three more on Wednesday. One of the three was running back Benny Snell Jr., who the Steelers drafted in the fourth round. The Steelers announced Snell was signed to a four-year contract.

Snell spoke to the media and you can tell he’s excited about the idea of being part of the Steelers’ offense with his style.

It’s hard-nosed football. I am grinding for every yard. I am a physical player. My style of running is Steelers football. Pittsburgh football. That is what I am going to bring.

Snell should be an automatic to make the final 53-man roster. He was one of the most productive running backs in college football last season and did it week after week against tough SEC defenses. The only question will be just how much the Steelers’ coaching staff are willing to break from tradition and feature more than one running back.
