Steelers sign QB Paxton Lynch to practice squad

The Pittsburgh Steelers needed a No. 3 quarterback and now they have one. On Monday the Steelers placed Ben Roethlisberger on IR with an elbow injury and followed it up with a promotion to the 53-man roster for Devlin Hodges.

Now, according to ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter, the Steelers have replaced Hodges on the practice squad with former first-round pick Paxton Lynch. Lynch spent two seasons with the Denver Broncos but his potential he flashed in college never materialized in the NFL. Lynch wasn’t on a roster in 2018.
