Steelers sign LB Jayrone Elliott to 53-man roster

Against the New England Patriots, the Pittsburgh Steelers struggled to get any sort of pressure on quarterback Tom Brady. Pittsburgh made a roster move on Tuesday perhaps in hopes of adding a little talent to the outside linebacker depth chart.

The team announced they signed edge rusher Jayrone Elliott to the 53-man roster. Elliott joined the team late in the preseason and played in the team’s final preseason game. This move certainly fills a need but it is unfortunate the Steelers let Tuzar Skipper sign with the New York Giants when they could have kept him on the roster. Pittsburgh released Skipper, who had five sacks in preseason to sign WR Johnny Holton who played 18 snaps against the Patriots.
