According to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport, the Pittsburgh Steelers and head coach Mike Tomlin have agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension that will keep Tomlin the head coach in Pittsburgh through the 2024 season.
Tomlin became the Steelers head coach in 2007, replacing the great Bill Cowher. Tomlin is 145-78-1 in the regular season, 8-8 in the postseason and is 1-1 in Super Bowls. The Steelers have never had a losing record with Tomlin in charge and have only missed the playoffs five times during his tenure.
Head coach for the Steelers is the hallmark of stability in all of professional sports. Tomlin enters his 15th season as head coach and is only the third head coach the franchise has had since 1969. This is in stark contrast to the revolving door of head coaches across the NFL.
