Steelers sign G Ramon Foster to a new two-year contract

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced on Thursday they have signed guard Ramon Foster to a new two-year contract. Foster was set to be an unrestricted free agent but this new deal will keep him on the team through 2020.

According to Steelers’ reporter Gerry Dulac, Foster’s new deal is worth $8.25 million. Foster’s previous contract was three years worth $9.6 million.

There was some concern when the Steelers placed a second-round tender on reserve B.J. Finney they could be moving on from Foster. But thankfully Pittsburgh was able to keep both and maintain consistency along the offensive line.

Foster has been the most underrated guy on the Steelers’ offensive front. He’s started 131 games over 10 seasons after being an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee. Foster isn’t just one of the better guards in the league he’s genuinely one of the good guys in the NFL. He’s also a fan favorite so this move should please the fans.
