Steelers sign G Isaac Seumalo to 3-year contract

I guess the Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t done adding interior offensive linemen after all. According to NFL reporter Jordan Schultz, the Steelers have signed free-agent guard Isaac Seumalo to a three-year contract.

Seumalo started 17 games last year at guard for the Philadelphia Eagles and was a Pro Bowl alternate. Seumalo had seen the previous two seasons cut short by injuries. A knee injury in 2020 cost him seven games and a Lisfranc injury in 2021 cost him 13 games.

The Eagles drafted Seumalo in the third round of the 2016 NFL draft out of Oregon State. Seumalo converted from center to guard once he made it to the NFL but could realistically move back to center if needed. Seumalo has been a starter in two Super Bowls and won one of them. This is the second former Eagles offensive lineman the Steelers have brought in this offseason. Assistant general manager Andy Weidl came over from Philadelphia and knows these players well.
