Steelers sign CB Trevon Mathis, waive RB Ralph Webb

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced a pair of roster moves on Thursday just a day before their first preseason game. Pittsburgh signed cornerback Trevon Mathis and to make room on the 90-man roster they have waived running back Ralph Webb.

Mathis started off as an undrafted free agent out of Toledo signed by the Minnesota Vikings. Mathis isn’t likely to make the final roster but for now Pittsburgh needs healthy bodies and Webb was still injured. The Steelers take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Friday night and don’t be shocked if Mathis sees reps late in the game with injuries at cornerback.
