Steelers select EDGE Sutton Smith in the 6th round of the 2019 NFL draft

The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Northern Illinois edge rusher Sutton Smith in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL draft. Smith has been one of the most prolific pass rushers in the country over the last two seasons. He’s amassed 29 sacks and a mind-boggling 56.5 tackles for loss during the same stretch.

Smith is grossly undersized for the NFL game and could find himself making a position change on the next level. His highlights show absolutely fanatical effort on every play and he could be a terror of special teams.

Pittsburgh went into the third day of the NFL draft with a clear need to add an additional pass-rushing outside linebacker. On paper Sutton is the guy but I am hesitant to think his game is going to translate to the pro level.
