Steelers release K Matt McCrane, CB Jack Tocho

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced two roster moves on Thursday. The team announced they have released defensive back Jack Tocho and kicker Matt McCrane.

Pittsburgh signed McCrane last season when Chris Boswell mysteriously went on IR before the final game of the season after struggling all year long. McCrane came up big for the Steelers in Week 17 against the Cincinnati Bengals hitting all three of his field goal tries to help secure the 16-13 win. But based on this move it would appear Boswell will go into training camp and the preseason with no challengers for the starting job.

Tocho was a guy the Steelers signed shortly after the now-defunct AAF disbanded. He was a longshot to make the team with the depth the Steelers have at cornerback but we thought he might at least stick around a bit longer than he did.
