Steelers RB James Conner sparked offense in the second half

Let’s take a trip back in time. To a time of age and wonder. When times were simpler and life was good. I’m talking about 2018. The second half of the Pittsburgh Steelers win over the Indianapolis Colts really brought back memories of the 2018 season and running back James Conner.

In 2018, Conner made the Pro Bowl after rushing for 973 yards and catching 55 passes for 497 receiving yards. It wasn’t a dominant season by any means but the scheme really showcased what Conner does well and how the Steelers were able to utilize it.

On Sunday, Conner gave the Steelers offense a real spark once quarterback Ben Roethlisberger found some ways to work him into the offense. Conner only rushed for 20 yards in the game but it was more than that. What we saw was Conner being used as a receiver, getting the football in space and allowing him to work going downhill. Conner had five receptions for 45 receiving yards and kept the chains moving when the Steelers needed it most.
