Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger takes big tumble in NFL Network Top 100

First, it was defensive tackle Cam Heyward and now it’s quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. The Pittsburgh Steelers have had five players make the NFL Network Top 100 list so far and it has consisted of three guys making their debut and two guys getting the snub with their placement.

The voters dropped Heyward all the way down to No. 88 from No 48 last season and now Roethlisberger lands at No. 44 after being ranked No. 18 last season.

All Roethlisberger did in 2018 was lead the league in passing yards with 5,129 and had the fourth-most passing touchdowns with 34. Roethlisberger’s placement illustrates the glaring problem with any sort of voting of peers for an award like this.

Players around the league don’t like Big Ben. He isn’t super flashy and doesn’t put up the highlight reel a guy like Patrick Mahomes does and his demeanor isn’t for everyone. But for the Steelers he’s QB1, he’s heading to Canton when his career is over and this ranking is ridiculous after the season he had.
