Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger still considers Antonio Brown a good friend

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger did an interview with Bob Pompeani of KDKA on Monday to talk about his strained relationship with wide receiver Antonio Brown, which ended in Brown being traded and him having plenty of bad things to say about Big Ben publicly.

But none of this seems to have fazed Roethlisberger who contends Brown is still his friend and he is hoping to reconnect.

He’s a good friend of mine. I still call him a good friend. And I hope that we can reconnect and I hope that our friendship can continue to grow.

While we can appreciate Roethlisberger’s ability to be candid and optimistic about Brown, we feel like this ship has sailed. Perhaps after both guys are retired and in the Hall of Fame they can mend their fences and put the past behind them. But for now, it’s doubtful Brown wants anything to do with Big Ben.

The Steelers traded Brown to the Oakland Raiders in the offseason after Brown made himself so troublesome and aired his grievances so publicly, the team had no other option. Brown got in front of every camera he could find to disparage Roethlisberger, but thankfully, Roethlisberger has chosen to do the mature thing and take the high road in this whole fiasco.
