Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger on COVID precautions: ‘You can’t live in a bubble’

The big news out of the NFL on Wednesday centers on Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss this week’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. This, along with some other high-profile positive tests, prompted the media to ask Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger about what precautions he’s taking.

Roethlisberger said he’s being reasonably safe but recognizes you can’t just hide and hope you don’t get sick.

You can’t live in a bubble,” Roethlisberger said. “I felt like we lived in a bubble last year.”

“Now I’m not going to go to a big crowded place to see what might happen. I’m not going to take that chance, I’m just trying to live a normal life. I don’t do much anyway. I’m kind of home all the time.”

Knock on wood but the Steelers have done a good job so far this season staying clear of any COVID-19 issues. Last season was a literal nightmare for Pittsburgh as it pertained to COVID-19 problems related to other teams.
