After the Steelers’ win on Sunday Night Football against the Raiders, the victors were forced to make an emergency landing in Kansas City during their flight back to Pittsburgh.
The team departed Las Vegas on a charter flight early Monday morning ET, and its flight was forced to land at Kansas City International Airport at approximately 5 a.m. ET due to an oil pressure failure in one of the plane’s engines, according to KDKA-TV. Two members of KDKA’s news crew were aboard the Airbus A330-900.
There were no injuries, and fire trucks were on the scene inspecting the plane. Steelers spokesman Burt Lauten announced the emergency landing on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Our team charter plane was unexpectedly diverted to Kansas City early this morning on our way back to Pittsburgh following our game in Las Vegas. Everyone on the plane is safe, and we are making necessary plans to arrive back in Pittsburgh later today.

A replacement plane will be landing in Kansas City around 10 a.m. ET from Atlanta, and the team will return to Pittsburgh on that plane, per KDKA.
