The Pittsburgh Steelers announced on Friday they were placing linebacker Ulysees Gilbert III on the Reserve/Injured list with an ankle injury. The move is in conjunction with the return of linebacker Vince Williams.
Williams came off the Reserve/COVID-19 list earlier this week and is now on the active roster. The Steelers had to place Gilbert on IR to make space on the roster for Williams after his roster exemption ended.
Gilbert’s career has been marred by injuries despite flashing some skills in the preseason. The Steelers are happy to have Williams back in the fold, however, with the Indianapolis Colts on the slate for the weekend.
