The Steelers have placed tight end Ladarius Green on the physically unable to perform list. He won't be eligible to practice or play for the Steelers until after the sixth week of the regular season.
Green, who signed a four-year, $20 million free agent deal in March, has yet to practice with the Steelers. Ankle surgery kept him from practicing this spring. He was placed on the PUP list before training camp and the Post-Gazette reported earlier this month headaches are the reason he remained on the PUP list.
The Steelers will open the regular season with Jesse James as their starting tight end. Veteran David Johnson and Xavier Grimble, who was on the practice squad last season, are likely to back him up.
