Steelers OT Zach Banner shutting down social media until he gets his new contract

Is Zach Banner the left tackle of the future for the Pittsburgh Steelers? This is a question hoping to be answered this offseason. But first, the Steelers and Banner have to come together on a new contract under unusual circumstances.

Banner originally won the starting right tackle spot in the final days of training camp, however, a torn ACL in the first game of the regular season derailed his goals of playing big in 2020 and cashing in.

Nevertheless, Banner remains positive and optimistic about a full recovery and return to action in 2021. As an unrestricted free agent, Banner is free to sign anywhere but it sounds like the only place he wants to be is in Pittsburgh. This is great news for a team that could be in dire need of a new starting left tackle.

In the meantime, Banner is going to lock down his social media and media contact until his new contract is done. The official start to the NFL year is on March 17 and we should know something fairly quickly as the Steelers front office would be wise to get Banner signed and have one less position to worry about.
