Steelers opt not to tender RFA Jordan Dangerfield

The Pittsburgh Steelers have made second-round tenders to two of their restricted free agents. The Steelers wanted to be sure they kept offensive lineman Matt Feiler and cornerback Mike Hilton in the fold. But one RFA who the Steeler didn’t offer to was Jordan Dangerfield, who will now become a free agent.

Choosing not to bring back Dangerfield leaves the Steelers very thin at safety. The primary backup to Terrell Edmunds and Minkah Fitzpatrick will be Marcus Allen and John Battle is the No. 4.

Dangerfield had been with the Steelers since 2014 and has three career starts. Dangerfield’s primary contributions during his career have been on special teams.
