Steelers OL Stefen Wisniewski looks to compete for a starting spot

After the sudden retirement of offensive guard Ramon Foster, the Pittsburgh Steelers found themselves in desperate need of a starting guard. But it’s fine because all they had to do was re-sign B.J. Finney, right? Wrong. Finney left to sign with the Seattle Seahawks.

But the Steelers didn’t just sit around and wonder what would happen next. They went out and brought a local player back home when they signed Stefen Wisniewski. Wisniewski brings a tremendous amount of experience to the position and should compete for a starting spot. And according to Wisniewski, this was what Pittsburgh told him when they brought him in.

If Wisniewski can plug in at left guard in place of Foster, it gives the Steelers have so much more freedom with the right tackle spot. Instead of contemplating moving Matt Feiler inside and leaving the right tackle spot open to a competition between Chuks Okorafor and Zach Banner.
