Martavis Bryant is not happy with Indianapolis Colts safety Matthias Farley.
While discussing his conditioning Sunday with ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Steelers receiver said he believes Farley was trying to injure him with a hit in the second quarter of the teams' preseason game Saturday at Heinz Field.
"I feel better about my body and my ability on the field. I don't have to worry about taking so many injuries from different plays like yesterday where he tried to hurt me," Bryant told ESPN. "Just making sure my body feels good and I stay in shape."
Asked about the nature of the hit, Bryant said it was "definitely intentional."
"I was already on the ground. It is what it is," Bryant said. "My foot was already bent. ... (Farley) just came in and hit me."
Before the hit, Bryant does, in fact, already have a knee on the ground after an ankle tackle by the Colts' Vontae Davis. Referees, however, did not penalize Farley for a late hit.
Bryant made a similar comment about a blow from Atlanta Falcons linebacker De'Vondre Campbell in a preseason game Aug. 20 at Heinz Field. He told the Post-Gazette "(Campbell) was trying to knock the crap out of me" on a hit that caused Bryant to fumble.
Bryant had five catches for 23 yards against the Colts. It was his second preseason game since returning from a year-long drug suspension that cost him all of the 2016 season.
