Steelers make multiple roster moves ahead of preseason game

On Thursday, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced multiple roster moves ahead of their preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday. The team announced the release of linebacker J.T. Jones and cornerback Jermaine Ponder. In their spots, Pittsburgh added tight end Micky Crum and linebacker Christian Kuntz.

Crum played his college football at Louisville and was unsigned coming out of the 2019 NFL draft. Kuntz played at Duquesne and might be listed at linebacker but was most likely signed to be a long snapper for the Steelers. He switched positions after college.

Regular long snapper Kam Canaday has missed some time during training camp with an injury so the addition of Kuntz could be related to that.
