Steelers lose DT Keeanu Benton to ankle injury

Late in the third quarter of the Pittsburgh Steelers preseason game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, rookie defensive tackle Keeanu Benton went out with an ankle injury. According to KDKA sports reporter Rich Walsh, Benton is out for the remainder of the game.

Benton played well in his NFL debut and looks ready to contribute as part of the Steelers defensive line rotation. There is no word on the extent of Benton’s injury but we will be tracking it closely and waiting for an injury update from head coach Mike Tomlin.

The Steelers lead the Bucs 27-7 at the start of the fourth quarter.
