Steelers linebacker James Harrison has agreed to meet with the NFL about performance-enhancing drug allegations against him, his agent confirmed to the Post-Gazette Thursday afternoon.
ESPN first reported Thursday that Harrison and Green Bay Packers players Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers agreed to speak with the league about a report by Al Jazeera America in December that implicated them and former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning in obtaining PEDs.
Harrison said Tuesday he was still contemplating whether to agree to the interview request, which the NFL has sought since Al Jazeera America aired its report.
According to Parise, the meeting with Harrison is scheduled for Aug. 29.
According to a letter obtained by ESPN he agreed only to answer questions about the Al Jazeera report.
Harrison previously provided a sworn affidavit on the subject matter in the Al Jazeera America report and told the Post-Gazette on Monday he considered the matter a "done deal." But the NFL wrote in a letter to the NFLPA later Monday stating that the affidavits would not be enough cooperation.
"When it comes down to it," Harrison said Wednesday, "I want to play but (there are) certain rules and things they need to go through that they didn't even go through just to even start an investigation, you know?"
