Steelers LB Ryan Shazier headed to Pitt to finish his degree

According to Steelers writer Brian Batko, Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier has a new challenge ahead of him. Batko reported Shazier is planning to return to college and finish the degree he left undone when he came to the NFL in 2014. Shazier had started his college career at Ohio State but will finish at Pitt.

Shazier is entering his second season out of football after suffering a catastrophic back injury. Shazier maintains his goal is to return to the NFL at some point but in the meantime, he wants to finish his psychology degree. This was discussed in a larger discussion about the importance of education.

"I feel like I have a personal relationship with them…and I really feel that I gave everything I had to the game and I feel like the game is still sowing that back to me. It’s respecting me the way I respected it."
