Steelers LB Devin Bush zeroing in on greatness

Only six games into his NFL career and Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Devin Bush is already well on his way to stardom. The Steelers traded up to draft Bush in hopes he could approach the level of athleticism and playmaking Ryan Shazier brought to the Steelers defense. So far I’d say Bush is well on his way to being the next great Steelers’ linebacker.

Bush’s 52 total tackles are 10th best in the league and tops among NFL rookies. Bush also leads the league in takeaways with six including four fumble recoveries and two interceptions. At this pace Bush will end up with close to 138 total tackles which is a number unheard of recently by a Steelers defender. Linebacker Lawrence Timmons had 139 tackles in 2014.

Bush is well on his way to being the Defensive Rookie of the Year and his first Pro Bowl. Bush, along with newly-acquired safety Minkah Fitzpatrick have made this defense much better and could be enough to carry this team right into the playoffs.
