Steelers LB Devin Bush ranked as 8th-best first-round rookie in 2019

There were plenty of skeptics when the Pittsburgh Steelers traded up to the No. 10 overall pick to draft linebacker Devin Bush. Bush was coming in to replace Ryan Shazier and this would be no small task. But through five games, he has been everything the Steelers could have hoped for, and more.

Our friends over at Touchdown Wire ranked the 2019 first-round picks at this point in the season and Bush checked in at No. 8.

Here’s what they had to say about Bush.

Loved the Steelers’ selection of the LB from Michigan and he has done everything asked of him and more throughout a troubled start for Pittsburgh. Bush is on the field for almost all of the plays and has 28 total tackles, three fumble recoveries, a sack and a highlight-reel INT. A Steelers’ star in the making. Grade: B-plus

Bush currently has 45 total tackles, best among rookies. He also has a sack, an interception and three fumble recoveries. Bush has started four games out of five and has played just over 89 percent of the total defensive snaps.
