Steelers LB Bud Dupree looking for new representation ahead of free agency

Read into this what you will but sportswriter Liz Mullen is reported that Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Bud Dupree has cut ties with his representation, Creative Artists Agency.

Dupree is in the cusp of free agency and is gunning for a massive payday. It only makes sense Dupree wants to be sure whoever is representing him at this juncture of his career has his best interest at heart when it comes to his future.

The easy speculation here is that Dupree is going to sign with mega-agent Drew Rosenhaus. We’ve already seen Steelers defensive tackle Javon Hargrave sign with Rosenhaus and in five days we might see the same from Dupree.

As with Hargrave, a move like this doesn’t bode well for a future in Pittsburgh. The Steelers are already pushed up hard against the salary cap and as much as Dupree might love playing in Pittsburgh, he probably loves making generational money in this next contract more.
