Steelers land elite TE in 2020 NFL mock draft

Despite all the moves the Pittsburgh Steelers have made this offseason, it isn’t hard to look ahead to next season in terms of the top NFL draft needs. One of those needs is going to be tight end unless Zach Gentry turns out to be the second coming of Heath Miller. Our friends over at Draft Wire have an updated 2020 mock draft out and they targeted one of the top tight ends in the country for the Steelers first-round pick.

Missouri’s Albert Okwuegbunam is one of the most exciting tight ends in the country. He’s 6-foot-5 and around 255 pounds but plays with the skills of a wide receiver.

As you can see from the highlight video below, Okwuegbunam is a terror in the seams where his physical advantage is overwhelming. But Missouri wasn’t shy about lining him up out wide as a receiver and letting him work as well.

No one is counting out Vance McDonald by looking at a player like Albert O but if he were on the board in the first round, he’d been almost too good to pass up. The versatility he brings on offense would be significant for a team transitioning to life without one of the top playmakers in the game.
