For this scenario, the Steelers pick No. 21 in the first round and land themselves a top edge rusher with Michigan State’s Kenny Willekes. Here’s what they had to say about the prospect.
In any other conference, Kenny Willekes would be talked about as one of the conference’s best defenders. In the Big 10, he’s chopped liver existing in the shadow of Epenesa, Young and Gross-Matos.
They are right when they say Willekes is pretty underrated going into the upcoming season. Pro Football Focus, had Willekes with 23 quarterback hits and 39 QB hurries in 2018.
This might be early but there is a real possibility outside linebacker is a huge draft need next year. Similar to how the Steelers cleaned house and made a big move for an inside linebacker in 2019, an edge guy could easily be the focus in 2020.
