Steelers K Chris Boswell injured on botched fake field goal

The Pittsburgh Steelers head into halftime tied 3-3 with the Cleveland Browns. If Pittsburgh doesn’t win this game, fingers are going to be pointed at Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and rightfully so.

Pittsburgh was lined up for a near-automatic field goal late in the half but Tomlin decided to go for broke and run an ill-timed fake. Kicker Chris Boswell rolled right but the Browns read the fake perfectly and he had nowhere to go with the football.

Boswell took a huge, albeit legal hit when he threw it incomplete and went down hard. Boswell stayed down and had to be helped from the sidelines. Tomlin chose to pass on the automatic three points and that one decision could have a huge ripple effect in the second half.

Let’s hear it in the comments. What do you think of the play call and will it cost the Steelers the win?
