Steelers hold pre-draft meeting with CB A.J. Green

Despite the fact that NFL teams cannot hold in-person visits with NFL draft prospects this year, teams are still doing their best to reach out to players they are interested in using technology. The Pittsburgh Steelers did this when they set up a pre-draft visit with former Oklahoma State cornerback A.J. Green.

Green is an interesting guy because he has the type of size and length. The Cowboys used him as a boundary cornerback and he was able to utilize his size and physicality to win most matchups. But the problem with Green is his speed and quickness.

Green relies on his strength and size to win because his speed and quickness is substandard. It really showed last season when he wasn’t able to muscle up receivers at the line of scrimmage and they ran past him.

In terms of draft status, Green projects as a sixth-round pick and more of a developmental player. You have to think the Steelers are eyeing cornerbacks to eventually replace either Joe Haden or Mike Hilton and Green can’t do either.
