Steelers hold off Colts 26-24 in final seconds

It took all 60 minutes but the Pittsburgh Steelers held off the Indianapolis Colts on the final drive to win 26-23 and pull to 4-4 at the midway point of the season.

It was a game of ups and downs for the Steelers offense. This group has really become all or nothing when it comes to moving the football. Quarterback Mason Rudolph finished with a modest 191 passing yards and it took him 35 attempts to get it. His best receiver was running back Jaylen Samuels who caught 13 balls for 73 yards. The run game was meager and relied on Trey Edmunds to get a few big runs to make it look respectable.

On defense it was a case of bend but don’t break. For every big play they gave up to backup quarterback Brian Hoyer or running back Marlon Mack, they made two big ones. Pittsburgh forced three turnovers and sacked the Colts five times.

The Steelers now must regroup, get healthy and finish up their three-game homestand with a tough one against the Los Angeles Rams.
