It sounds like it is going to be a crash course in the Pittsburgh Steelers defense for new safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. The Steelers finalized a trade for Fitzpatrick on Monday and according to head coach Mike Tomlin, the plan is to get him in for Wednesday practice and have him play on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.
The Steelers really don’t have much choice. This is a team with its back against the wall. Sitting at 0-2 and without its franchise quarterback, a loss this week would be disastrous. You pair that with starting free safety Sean Davis headed to IR and it just doubles the importance of getting Fitzpatrick on the field as soon as possible.
