With just six weeks to the 2019 NFL draft, teams are on the road hitting up college pro days, getting one last look at the top prospects. NFL reporter Tom Pelissero was at the Michigan pro day on Friday and he ran into Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert. Pelissero also noted head coach Mike Tomlin and defensive assistant Teryl Austin were in attendance.
The Wolverines have a handful of top prospects but they guy the Steelers were there to see is linebacker Devin Bush. With L.J. Fort headed to the Philadelphia Eagles, the only real speed among the Steelers’ inside linebackers went with him.
Bush is one of the fastest and most athletic inside linebackers in the entire draft. His game is built around his skill for covering a ton of field and closing with physicality. He’s a little undersized but it’s a trade-off the Steelers would likely make to get a playmaker like Bush into the fold.
