Steelers G David DeCastro snubbed by NFL Network Top 100

The NFL Network wrapped up their Top 100 players of 2019 on Wednesday. The Pittsburgh Steelers were well represented with five players on the list including three guys making their debut. Here’s where the Steelers checked in on the list voted on by the players.

LB T.J. Watt-93

DT Cam Heyward-88

RB James Conner-62

WR JuJu Smith-Schuster-47

QB Ben Roethlisberger-44

We were shocked to see Heyward all the way down at No. 88. We were even more shocked to see Roethlisberger, who led the league in passing at No. 44. But there was no bigger snub on the list than to have the list wrap up and not see guard David DeCastro on there.

DeCastro checked in at No. 44 in 2018 and had a better season in 2019. He’s easily one of the two or three best all-around guards in the league. The NFL Network list also include Colts guard Quenton Nelson who is one of the only guards who might be better than DeCastro.

I’m sure for players it is great to be recognized by their peers but it’s hard to take these lists too seriously when so many good players are overlooked.
