Steelers fill practice squad with WR Johnny Holton

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced on Monday morning they have filled their 10-man practice squad with the signing of wide receiver Johnny Holton. There had been some question about the practice squad roster based on the return of tight end Christian Scotland-Williamson. But his exemption allowed the Steelers to add Holton to the roster.

Holton had a strong preseason and many speculated he could make the final 53-man roster. This speculation is stronger when you consider the Steelers only kept five wide receivers. Don’t be shocked if the Steelers send a player on the roster to injured/reserve this week, opening up a spot for the speedy Holton to be promoted.
