Forbes put out their list of the most passionate sports fanbases and the Steelers did well. According to their formula, Pittsburgh as the fourth-most passionate fanbase in the NFL.
The Steelers are the biggest show in town, with more locals identifying as fans of the black and yellow than for the city’s hockey and baseball franchises. Next stop: making the Terrible Towel the official state flag.
According to the author, they included things like TV ratings, attendance, merchandise sales and social media reach. The first six teams on the list are all NFL franchises with the Green Bay Packers coming out on top.
